Visit of Arab Prosecutors Delegation to the public prosecution service of Canada
(PPSC)

The objective of this field visit falls within one of the Project's general objectives,
dissemination of knowledge. Its main purpose is to expose the participating Arab
public prosecutors to the structure and activities of the Public Prosecution Service
of Canada (PPSC), its main prosecution responsibilities, and the investigative tools
it uses. The visit aims at providing these prosecutors with basic knowledge on the
training courses of the "school for prosecutors", the topics it addresses within
prosecution and criminal law practice, in addition to learning techniques used in
drug treatment courts, witness protection programs, and other facilities. A number
of Arab public prosecutors were selected by the Public Prosecution Offices in their
respective countries, in coordination with the Project Management Team, to participate
in this event. These participants were:

Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) - United Kingdom

The objective of this field visit to the United Kingdom falls within the general
objective of dissemination of knowledge. It intends to expose participating Arab
public prosecutors to the expertise, best practices and modern techniques in case
management and investigative tools of modern crimes adopted by the Crown Prosecution
Service (CPS) in the United Kingdom; as well as endorsing the creation of an international
network of different stakeholders involved in issues of state and citizen security.
Ten Arab public prosecutors (2 from each pilot country) were selected by the Public
Prosecution Offices in their respective countries, in coordination with the Project
Management Team, to participate in this event. These participants are:

The objective of this visit is to allow the participants to benefit from the technological
developments and the Belgium expertise, mainly in relation to case management procedures
as well as the methods adopted in the investigation and prosecution of money laundering
crimes. This visit rests on the following pillars:
1- The role and functions of the public prosecutors and the methods used in case
management
2- The practical perspective of the methodology and techniques of investigating
and prosecuting cyber crimes and money laundering cases.
3- Prisons and the related role of public prosecutors
Four Lebanese public prosecutors were selected by the Public Prosecution Office
in Lebanon, in coordination with the Project Management Team, to participate in
this event. These participants are:
